Accommodation in Mallorca
Mallorca is one of the most famous summer holiday destinations in the world. Accommodation is varied and is suited to all kinds of holiday groups. Younger travellers and backpackers may prefer hostels or smaller hotels near to the beaches and city centres. Families with young or older children may prefer one of the All Inclusive 3-5* hotels where couples may prefer an adult only boutique hotel. There are also specific hotels dedicated to groups of young friends. For those who would like to be more independent villas could suit you. High season June, July and August generally gets fully booked on the Island so if you're planning to travel at these times then we highly recommend booking both your flights and accommodation in advance .
Airport and Transportation
Mallorca Airport, PMI is the first stop for all holiday makers coming to the Island. The Airport has 4 terminals and can handle over 25 million passengers a year and covers an area of 6.3km. The airport is 9km from the city centre and has easy access to all areas on the island.
From the airport it's easy to take a bus to Palma, city buses depart every 15 minutes and connect you to the centre, the port and Arenal. There are also intercity buses that connect you with other towns on the Island. Taxis are the most convenient way to reach your destination, you can pre book taxis before you arrive or take an airport taxi from outside of the arrivals hall. To be independent throughout your holiday the best choice is to hire a car. There are car rental companies available in the arrivals hall however, in the height of season we strongly recommend making any car rental arrangements in advance to avoid disappointment.
Mallorca airport PMI tip:
After getting off the plane at the airport, it can take 30 minutes to then pass through the airport to the exit door of the arrivals hall due to the area the airport covers. For this reason, we advise you to calculate this into your timings for booking taxis, arranging cars and also for the time you arrive at the airport for your departure.
